SJCC Colin Harvey Award
Presented each year to an up and coming construction manager, the SJCC Colin Harvey Award was established in memory of its namesake, who died in 2003 and was passionate about training in the industry, and in particular, people making the change from being a site operative to site management.
2022 Winner
The 2022 Colin Harvey Award was given to Dale Gregory, who is Site Manager at Gipping Construction. Paul Orriss, Joint MD at Gipping Construction commented: “At each stage of Dale’s career he has exceeded
our expectation, from completing his
apprenticeship early, becoming a fully-fledged carpenter able to work on his
own initiative, through to taking on a site
management role.
“Dale’s work is always meticulous, and he
uses the high standards he sets himself as
an example to others. He uses his ability
to communicate with others to deal with
any issues that arise on site in a quick and
efficient manner. Above all, he constantly
demonstrates his passion for both Gipping
and the industry and everyone he works for and works for him on his projects. Dale has
the ability to go as far as he wants in the
construction industry.”
2019 Winner
The 2019 award was presented to Daniel Lloyd, a Site Manager at R G Carter.

The judges’ commented. “We were very impressed with the range of skills that Daniel has acquired so far, and he has demonstrated a high level of commitment and a desire to progress his career.”
